macro close up filters

Got some new close up filters today.. only £20 for 4 different optics. All they do is reduce the minimum focal distance of a lens, enabling you to go much much closer than you'd normally manage. Seeing as a good macro lens is hundreds, its worth a shot.

got the focus slightly wrong on this one, its SO hard to hold it steady at that magnification

  2. Never heard of close-up filters - very interesting! I have a Nikon so need 52mm and have spotted a set of 4 on Ebay and Amazon for around £20. Hama or Hoya are about £20+ each though.

  3. Lovely close up photos.
The add on lenses are certainly worth adding to the camera bag. As you say the slightest movement to or fro throws everything out of focus. When I have tried I had to take several shots of each thing to get one decent photo when hand held.

  4. its a real knack trying to get it right.. the x10 is almost impossible to handle without a tripod, but the x4 is a joy
