Got some new close up filters today.. only £20 for 4 different optics. All they do is reduce the minimum focal distance of a lens, enabling you to go much much closer than you'd normally manage. Seeing as a good macro lens is hundreds, its worth a shot.

Never heard of close-up filters - very interesting! I have a Nikon so need 52mm and have spotted a set of 4 on Ebay and Amazon for around £20. Hama or Hoya are about £20+ each though.

ReplyDeleteThe add on lenses are certainly worth adding to the camera bag. As you say the slightest movement to or fro throws everything out of focus. When I have tried I had to take several shots of each thing to get one decent photo when hand held.
its a real knack trying to get it right.. the x10 is almost impossible to handle without a tripod, but the x4 is a joy
